We had such a fantastic time at Onverwacht – the drive there was beautiful and so relaxing. Onverwacht really is high in the mountains and is so perfect for a weekend break and getting back to basics. It’s rustic, self-catering, peaceful, perfect for kids, cost effective and offers some beautiful mountain walks. The views across the valley are stunning and the air is clear and crisp. We were fortunate enough to see mountain buck on our arrival too. Early on Saturday morning, we rode our bikes from Onverwacht into the little town of McGregor which was exceptional. It’s a down-hill ride most of the way (approx 27km’s) and the town welcomed us with a hearty breakfast at one of the many quaint restaurants. I would recommend Onverwacht for a weekend getaway and most certainly will return… Thanks once again to Sandra and Japie for their hospitality, it certainly was a weekend that we will remember!

We just want to let you know that we had an awesome week-end. It was fantastic and we enjoyed every minute of it. We went to bed at about 9 o’clock in the evening, something we never do at home. All the trails that we walked was good and I feel so good today and well rest.
Thank you very much for your hospitality. We are planning on coming again the end of April and we want to bring the kids with. I will confirm the exact dates with you later.
Your place is really beautiful and we had a lot of fun. I love all the little “ornaments” that were around the place - it gave so much character to the place. Things that we normally see as junk and would through away, gave character to the place. I just stood in awe when I looked at the mountains and realised again how great and big our God is.

We enjoyed ourselves so mush at your beautiful place - Onverwacht is very special and we'll definitely be coming back.
We enjoyed our walk today down to the pools and swim too.

Asemrowende uitsig!. Ons moes net eenvoudig wegbreek van die geraas in die stad!
Met twee kinders saam,was dit heerlik hier, Sal definitief terugkom! Met ons besoek hier,gaan nog baie mense saam met ons terug keer. Kliphuisie is definitief spesiaal,ons dank julle,om die geluk en vrede,saam jul te geniet.

Verlede jaar hierdie tyd het ons gesin al ernstig begin uitsien na ons Kersfees by julle huisies in die berg ! (Dis mos ek wat my lang braaitang daar agtergelos het. Sal jou nog laat weet sodra ons weer kom kuier om hom dalk op te tel as jy dit nog het !)
Die mooiste Kersseisoen vir julle ! Ons sal beslis met warmte terugdink aan laasjaar daar by julle pragtige bergvesting !!!
